Reporting to the Group Quality Manager the ideal candidate will fully support the business in the successful development and launch of new products, as well as engineering change management of supplied components. Also to work with suppliers to achieve quality, cost, innovation, delivery and management targets as well as managing the day to day running of the busy quality department in the absence of the Manager.

•    Identifying/setting Quality standards and key performance indicators within the division based on company and customer expectations.
•    Management of the QA operations of the plant in close consultation and cooperation with the Quality Manager and General Manager.
•    Working with Programme management to ensure the successful implementation of New Programmes. To be a key member of the implementation team, FMEA and Control Plan implementation.
•    Manage Quality Technician and Engineering activities at multi-sites in the absence of the QA Manager.
•    Monitoring and reporting on matters of Quality to the Management team
•    Manage JIT multi-plant Quality.
•    Manage and coordinate the combined UK Quality reports and QOS systems.
•    Stand-in, in the absence of the Quality Manager.
•    Ensure Roles and Responsibilities are carried out within the department.
•    TS16949 Control and Maintenance.
•    Ensure that all documentation conforms to industry/customer quality standards and supports customer new product needs.
•    Set and communicate specific supplier quality targets and significant characteristics.
•    Report supplier PPMs monthly, maintain and execute supplier corrective action/development plans.
•    Report all identified components rejects, initiate and review supplier corrective actions.
•    Ensure timely supplier containment to support company provision.
•    Fully support engineering change management of supplied components/material.
•    Actively participate in the continuous improvement process – supplier quality, cost, innovation, delivery and management.
•    Ensure that requirements of Environmental, Health and Safety Policy are communicated to, understood and adhered to by all Quality personnel.
•    Drive the supplier APQP process to achieve a quality launch.
•    Ideally a recognised engineering qualification or equivalent, IQA membership.
•    Experience of managing Quality within Tier 1 Automotive including co-ordination/ supervision of a project based or functional team.
•    Demonstrable experience of managing a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians.
•    Able to demonstrate contribution to previous successful new product launches.
•    Able to demonstrate an understanding of business strategy and the role of Quality within the business.
•    Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levels in the business and with customers/ suppliers.
•    Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
•    PC literate – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Lotus notes.
•    Strong organisational, time management and prioritising skills
