Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Commodity Manager will be primarily responsible for purchase negotiations & ensure effective management of the supply chain.

•    Responsible for purchase negotiations & evaluation of potential new suppliers
•    Supervision of a team of Buyers
•    Implementation of purchase strategy & monitoring of supplier related KPI’s
•    Evaluate & establish new suppliers according to the companies purchase strategy and in conjunction with the engineering resource for the site
•    Responsibility for all commercial aspects of the specification, negotiate with suppliers and establish a contract to supply against the required specification.
•    Co-ordinate all cost down activities through to end of life
•    Working closely with the Supply Chain department, the role will identify suppliers as bid partners in supporting the quoting process for increasingly complex purchased components, modules and assemblies

The ideal Commodity Manager should be CIPS qualified with a proven track record of effective Commodity Management and have the ability to deal with people at all levels of the company, supply base & customer base;

•    Proven track record on complex negotiations
•    organised with an ability to set standards for self & others whilst being a team player with a high degree of initiative & pro-active
•    Automotive systems experience ie PPAP, APQP, FMEA
•    Experience of reporting, data analysis & accurate delivery of information for action (Word, Access & Excel)
•    Managing tight budgets and finance
•    Achieve cost reduction and implement strategic sourcing

Ideally the Commodity Manager will have developed your experience within an automotive component supply environment.

Salary : Circa £35,000 – £37,000 dependant on skill and experience
