The Despatch Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational activity of the despatch department. This will include ensuring KPIs and targets are met, internal audits, employee / HR issues, developing and maintaining systems and continuous improvements. Other key responsibilities will include day to day liaison with transport companies and customers alike to ensure timely deliveries, avoiding payment delays and additional administration costs where possible.
The Despatch Manager will be a Warehouse, Despatch or Logistics Manager / Supervisor from a manufacturing background (ideally Automotive) and able to understand the time pressures associated with such an environment, particularly regarding Quality Assurance and at finishing / assembly / packing stages. As well as being fully computer literate, the Despatch Manager will also have some working knowledge of planning information systems along with the ability to maintain and develop spreadsheets as well as presentation documents.
Salary : Circa £25-30,000 depending on skills and ability
