A successful independent organisation who specialise in Rapid prototyping, net shape manufacturing and engineering of thin films and structures as well as the analysis and testing of a range of metallurgical specimens using the latest Perkin Elmer machinery and Leco Analysers are looking to recruit an additional Development Engineer to join an already successful team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and be able to demonstrate experience of project management, they will hold a PhD in metallurgy or as a minimum achieved a BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy / Materials Science combined with 2-3 years post graduate experience. An understanding of Nickel based alloys, aerospace manufacturing, or production engineering with a development bias would be an asset. The ability to read drawings and use CAD 3D Modelling (solid works) is essential while knowledge of general engineering machines is useful. As part of a small team you will be flexible, committed and have excellent interpersonal skills, be hands on and be able to exceed expectations. The ability to work closely with clients in a proactive manner is crucial to the success of the business
The post holder will be responsible for:
• Engineering support for EOS M270 & associated equipment, furnace, metrology equipment.
• Process Development, Characterisation and Optimisation
• Process Sustaining, monitoring & Control
• Data Conversion, Job Scheduling and Collation of results
• Client Presentations
• CAD / CAM conversion for EOS M270
Salary £30-£32k depending on skills and experience & Benefits
37.5 hours Flexitime
