Genuinely, here’s an opportunity to join one of the country’s premier sporting venues as their head hospitality and events manager…..and you don’t even need to have a sports background!
This exciting role is based at a brand new state of the art purpose built venue currently nearing completion and as such is in need of a first class ‘strategic’ head of hospitality and events to take the reins and smash a £3.5m budget target! The success of the department rests with you.
Reporting into the general manager you’ll have responsibility for three direct managerial reports as well as all the casual staff required for each event… and that could top 500!!
The venues hospitality and event facilities is truly impressive; uniquely they have a resident Michelin star chef, 9 lounges, all with their own kitchen, bar and seller, three of which can accommodate 450 covers offering plated or silver service. 14 corporate boxes (all of which are sold out for the next 5 years!), a brassiere restaurant right through to kiosks, carvery sandwiches’, pies and a pint! They really have the ability to cater for every occasion.
Over the next year or so the as completion draws near these stats will only increase, as will the level of responsibility and the challenge that this role presents….now is the optimum time to join and put your stamp on things.
APPETITE SUITABLE WETTED?
To be in with a chance of an interview you’ll need to fit the following profile;
- A proven track record of hospitality/events management
- Experienced in running a minimum £2m budget
- A high volume covers background (100s plus)
- Strong management skills
- Strong character
- A strategic thinker
- A CV that can demonstrate significant achievements and progression
The above criterion is essential but as I mentioned earlier experience in sport is not. You might have a background hotel, or the entertainments sector or the leisure industry perhaps. All will be considered.
