Laboratory Technician / Laboratory Scientist is required to join an independent Rapid Prototyping business who are establishing various analysis capabilities for chemical and morphological QA checks on product and incoming raw material.

The ideal candidate must be capable of working to defined procedures and be process driven. You will be required to operate various laboratory equipment for the analysis and testing of a range of metallurgical specimens using Perkin Elmer machinery and Leco Analyser for Carbon-Sulphur and Nitrogen-Oxygen, as well as other testing machinery such as Microscopes. Educated to Degree level or equivalent you will have a chemistry or metallurgical background. Ongoing training and development will be offered in order to maximise the potential of the machinery and will ultimately involve presenting analysis results to customers and suppliers.

Other duties include:

  • Calibration & maintenance of equipment, management of consumable supplies
  • Day to day management of laboratory and associated work flow, including responsibility for all Health & Safety aspects.

Working hours: 37.5 Hrs / Week, flexible start / finish times Holidays: 25 Days + Bank Holidays
