Reporting to the NPI Manager, the Process / Tooling Engineer will be, responsible for providing operational support to Moulding and associated process projects. To support or manage assigned projects through validation to completion. Provide support to the operations teams in conducting validation trials as required. The validation of tooling on a existing products. Support to the operational team in conducting engineering investigations into potential issues seen in production.

Key responsibilities:
• To prepare Validation rationales for tooling, moulding and any other associated processes within validation guidelines and to support the creation of Validation Master Plan.
• To prepare the generation of all robust documentation/ specification criteria associated with validation of re tooling [ Validation plans, protocols, reports etc]
• To carry out all tool validation in line with appropriate procedures or protocols, either internally or at external subcontractors.
• To prepare appropriate handover packages are compiled, generated and transferred into manufacturing to ensure smooth handover and compliance in production
• To install / oversee installation of any new ancillary equipment required on the moulding station for the trialling / validation of the new tool as required by the Moulding Project Engineer.
• To monitor progress of all tooling validation processes to ensure timescales are maintained and to communicate status to all relevant parties as appropriate.
• To ensure that process requirements of all new tooling is understood, specified and is in place at tool design review.
• To identify any processing issues and carry out Design of Experiments when required to identify a robust process window for new and repeat tooling.
• To provide back up engineering support to production when needed.
• To keep abreast of advances on Technology development in process technology to ensure Functional Excellence is maintained.
• To ensure Health and Safety Policies and Environmental Policies are being adhered to at all times.
• The achievement of agreed personal objectives.
• To undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by the functional manager

The ideal candidate will be either a hands on process engineering with medical moulding experience is able to perform plastic injection mould trials and follow this up with the supporting paperwork then assist production. Or a tooling engineer with a mould tool / toolmaking back ground is able to design injection mould tools and liase with external toolmaker globally to introduce moulds in to production. Some travel will be part of this role as many of the supplier are overseas

Salary : Depending on your experience this would be around £24,000 for a graduate upto £40,000 for a time served engineer
