The Project / Design Engineer will be responsible for taking ownership of projects through the design process, from concept to production and ultimately to installation / commissioning. The Project / Design Engineer will be required to design products and components (new and existing) capable of satisfying specifications (process, materials, purpose etc). You will also be required to give technical advice based on product / customer requirements.
The Project / Design Engineer will be a degree qualified (or equivalent) Project / Design Engineer with practical experience of designing products / components that form complex assemblies. In addition you will have strong liaison and project management skills coupled with the ability to solve problems. Knowledge of 3D CAD – AutoCAD is essential, along with materials and process knowledge (CNC Machining, Fabrication, Stress Calculations etc). You will also be an effective communicator and able to work on your own initiative.
Salary : Circa £25,000 depending on skills and ability
