Reporting to the Technical Manager the Prototype Engineer is responsible for the production of these high quality prototypes in a timely manner and will interpret, develop and prove ideas whilst working closely with the design team, providing knowledge based assistance with design development issues and demonstrating your design knowledge and thought processes behind the solutions presented. The successful candidate will take 3D Solidworks files and use them to create 2D flat shapes using AutoCad, as well as machining 2D shapes using a combination of CNC Router / LASER and manual cutting machines, before reconstructing the components by hand to produce quality prototypes.
Skills and Experience : Ideally the right candidate will be from a Design background and can demonstrate the experience of working with wood, composite boards, acrylic and general sheet plastics and metals, as well as knowledge and ability in the fabrication and forming of acrylic and general sheet plastics, and of course skills and experience gained in the use of Rapid Prototyping techniques .
Salary : Circa £25,000 depending on experience coupled with stability and genuine career progression opportunities
